
Hello BGMS Parents,
This is Ms. Munguia with announcements for this week. This week Tuesday is a short day with dismissal at 1:30 pm. In sports, volleyball plays River Oak Charter, on Monday at BGMS, Tuesday they play Fort Bragg at Fort Bragg and Thursday they play Eagle Peak at Eagle Peak. A, B, and C Teams play for all three days and all games begin at 4:00 pm. Volleyball will end their season with the A Team Serve-a-thon fundraiser on Friday, beginning at 3:00 pm. Everyone is encouraged to come and show your support for BGMS Sports. Thank you to Coach Ludwig and Coach Hall for their time and effort at providing a fun and competitive volleyball season for our students. Tuesday the Cross Country team travels to Spring Lake for a meet that will begin at 3:30 pm. The Cross Country team will also end their season this week with a home meet on Wednesday at the Par Course in Brooktrails, beginning at 3:15 pm. Thank you also to Ms. Golding for her coaching of our Cross Country Team. Friday begins the BGMS Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon has as a theme this year, Send a message. Be Drug Free. Each day will have a different dress up theme; Friday is Wear Red to kick off Red Ribbon Week, then next week, Monday is Pajama Day, Put Drugs to Sleep, Tuesday is 80s Day, Drugs are Old School and Wednesday is Halloween Costumes Day, Drugs are Scary. Thursday and Friday of next week are staff professional development days and students will not be attending classes. In Science, this week students should be thinking about their Science Fair question. A Science Fair Project is required for all students, in all grade levels at BGMS. We have after school assistance for homework or any work needing help from a teacher. Mondays after school, 3:00 to 4:00 pm, Ms. Hendrix in room 12 is available for help, and Wednesday in room 9, Ms. Didato is available for help. This is Ms. Munguia with announcements for this week. Thank you to every parent who came to meet with teachers to talk about how to support their child’s success in school. Tomorrow, Monday, the background research for the Science Fair project is due, for all students doing a Science Fair project. Tuesday we will have our first BGMS Parent Education Night. First Five will do a presentation for parents on how to help with teenage anxiety and depression. We are encouraging all our parents to join us for an informative night, and we will provide child care. Thursday is our make-up day for all students who have not taken their school pictures. There will be a School Site Council meeting on Thursday beginning at 3:15 in the BGMS Library. The Pep Band will play again on Friday at the WHS Football game. BGMS members should be at the WHS band room at 6:15pm. In sports, volleyball will play Pomolita on Monday at BGMS, Tuesday they play Mendocino at Mendocino, and Wednesday they play Laytonville at Laytonville. All games begin at 4:00 pm. There is a B Team Tournament at Anderson Valley on Saturday beginning at 9:00 am. Thank you for your attention and goodbye.

All of the Willits schools have power and will be open today.

Good Evening. Please be advised that there is a chance of a power outage in the Willits area scheduled for tomorrow October 9th. If you have power at your residence tomorrow morning, assume that school will be in session during regular scheduled hours. If you do not have power at your residence tomorrow morning, assume school will be canceled. In the event of a power outage during the day, school will continue to be operational until the end of the school day. We will continue to update you as we receive further information. This is Ms. Munguia with announcements for this week. This is Parent/Teacher/Student conference week. Students have a 1:30 pm end of the school day release time every day this week. Teachers have been setting up conference times. Every parent should make sure that their contact information is up to date in Aeries. For help in updating your family’s information please call the BGMS office. We are looking forward to meeting with all of our families. I want you all to know that teacher communication with parents is very important for the success of your child. All students at BGMS have begun working on their Science Fair Projects. Monday the project question, a list of the materials, and the time estimate are due. Your student received important dates and information about the Science Fair Projects this past week. In sports volleyball plays Round Valley on Monday at BGMS, A and B teams, Wednesday Potter Valley, at Potter Valley, A, B, and C teams, and Thursday Mendocino at Mendocino, A, B and C teams. All days begin at 4:00 pm. Cross Country travels to Windsor on Wednesday for a meet that begins at 4:00 pm. On Saturday BGMS Cross Country will be part of the Mendo Mile beginning at 10:30. Go Cougars! I am happy to announce that First Five Mendocino will be providing BGMS Parent Education Nights three times this year, beginning with October 15th. Parents can learn about how to help with teenage anxiety and depression beginning at 6:00 pm in the library. This is something we can all use more information about so we hope to see everyone there, next week. Also, as the weather begins to get cold, and we experience more colds, we are asking parents and community members for donations of facial tissues and hand sanitizer to Baechtel Grove Middle School. These can be brought to the main office, and thank you for your support. And finally do not forget that we have a book fair this week in the library. This is Ms. Munguia with announcements for this week. We are mid-way through our first trimester. You received grade checks this last week and next week are Parent-Teacher Conferences. This is all in place to make sure that students are successful in their first trimester this year. If you would like a parent conference, and are not contacted to be involved in one, please call your student’s Language Arts teacher. Volleyball, A and B teams play Laytonville on Monday at BGMS, Upper Lake at Upper Lake on Tuesday, Point Arena at BGMS on Wednesday, and the A team has a tournament at Eagle Peak on Saturday. All games begin at 4:00 pm on weekdays and 9:00 am on Saturday. The Cross Country team will have a meet at Badger Park in Healdsburg on Monday beginning at 3:45 pm. Tuesday is a regular day schedule this week. Volleyball will have their annual fundraiser on Friday. C Team will do a Bump-a-thon from 3-4, B Team will do a Bump-a-thon from 4-5, and A Team will do a Serve-a-thon from 5-6. I hope to see lots of people come out to support our Volleyball Team! Hello BGMS Parents,
This is Ms. Munguia with announcements for this week. The Cross Country meet for this Monday has been cancelled. Volleyball will play Eagle Peak at home on Monday, and Fort Bragg at home on Wednesday, both days games begin at 4:00 pm and all three teams will play. There is an A team tournament in Arcata on Friday and Saturday, with a beginning game at 5:30 pm on Friday. Monday at 6:00 pm there will be an Early High School Parent workshop. We are asking all parents whose students are in the program to come to an informative night about how the program will influence their high school years. Tuesday is a minimum day this week, with students out of school at 1:30 pm. Thursday at 5:00 pm we are asking all of our English Learner students to come to a BGMS ELAC parent advisory meeting. It is very important that all of our Spanish speaking parents attend this meeting. We need your input. All Parents should expect students to bring home grade progress sheets from all of their core classes, this week; Language Arts, Social Studies, Math and Science. Your signature is required so that we know that you have seen these. If you have any questions about these please call, or email the teacher. The BGMS 8th Grade Band will be combining with the WHS Band, starting this Friday to form a 41-member Pep Band for WHS Varsity Home Games. This will be the largest band that has played at these events in over 6 years! Our first performance is this Friday, September 20th, starting at around 7:30pm. Come out and support our town's growing Music Program, our Band, the WHS Football Teams, and our community! See you there!


Hello BGMS Parents,
This is Ms. Munguia with announcements for this week. Volleyball starts off their week on Monday by playing Upper Lake at home, A and B teams, Tuesday’s game was canelled, and Wednesday A and B teams are back home playing Leggett. Games begin at 4:00 pm on all days. All AVID Parents are invited to our AVID Parent Workshop on Wednesday beginning at 5:00 pm with sixth grade. 7th and 8th grade will begin at 5:30. The first BGMS Site Council meeting will take place on Thursday beginning at 3:15 pm in the library. The Back to School dance was rescheduled to this Friday from last Friday. Everyone is eligible for this dance. All students are welcomed. It will take place from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm in the BGMS cafeteria, and is going to be lots of fun. The first eighth grade pep band performance will take place this Friday during the Varsity WHS Football game, with their practice beginning at 6:15 pm that day, at the WHS Band room. Attention parents due to scheduling conflicts we have moved the web dance from this Friday the 13th to next Friday the 20th. It will be held in the BGMS cafeteria from 4 to 5:30.

Volleyball begins their season with a home game on Monday playing Potter Valley, traveling to Round Valley on Wednesday, and then again at home playing Mendocino on Friday, with games beginning at 4:00 pm on all three days. This Tuesday is an early release day. The students’ day will end at 1:30 pm. Wednesday is the BGMS School Pictures Day. Students took home information about how to purchase these pictures last week. Mr. Olds has rescheduled his Band Parent meeting for this Thursday beginning at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria. The Back to School Dance, put on by the WEB Leaders is open to all students this Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Only BGMS students may attend, and only BGMS Parents may help to chaperone the dance. Hello BGMS Parents and Caregivers,
This is Ms. Munguia with announcements for this week. We hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend. We are on a short 4 day week and there is no early release this Tuesday. There will be a volleyball team parent meeting, with Coach Ludwig and Coach Hall, Tuesday at 4:15, in the gym. All team parents should attend for A, B, and C teams. If parents can't make it please, have the girls come instead. Mr. Olds would also like all of the band parents to attend a mandatory meeting on Thursday beginning at 6:00 in the band room. Sixth graders should have their Technology Use forms in to the office, and 7th and 8th graders should have the technology use form, the Chromebook use form, and have paid for insurance if they intent to take the Chromebook home. Students will not be allowed to use Chromebooks, or be issued a Chromebook until all the paperwork has been turned in to the office. Coming up next week we have Picture Day on Wednesday, September 11th. Thank you for your attention and goodbye.

If you are going to volunteer with WUSD this year you need to have your fingerprints done. The company Print Your Mitts, will be at Brookside Elementary Open House on Thursday at 6 PM until 8. WUSD has a form that the DOJ charges us $32 for us to have processed and Mitt Your Mitts will charge you $30 for their service. If your interested please have 2 checks available to use. We greatly appreciate our volunteers. We don't have any choice on the rules or cost. I would get there early, last year there was a line.

This is Ms. Munguia with announcements for this week. We have had a good start to the school year this week and are looking forward to continuing the enthusiasm in our students. Wednesday students took home their technology use forms, please read these over, sign them and have students return them to Pam in the front office. Monday students will be bringing home their Back to School flyers inviting all our parents and caregivers to our Back to School Night on Wednesday. Please ask them for it. Tuesday of this week is a minimum day. School will let out at 1:30 pm. Wednesday everyone is invited to the Baechtel Grove Back to School Night, beginning at 6:00 pm, in the cafeteria. In sports, volleyball tryouts will take place Monday, and Wednesday after school 3:00 to 4:30 pm.
