I have put together a folder of information to share with parents and students during this non-classroom instruction time. It is my intent to continue to add to this as we go through the weeks. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/19avYBzh8L5XfvixXwXPz6-Yg23G08uyF?usp=sharing

Hello BGMS Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers,
This is Ms. Munguia with very important information for this week. I hope you received the Superintendentās message letting you know that we will not have students at school, in classes beginning tomorrow, until April 13th. Students, however, are still expected to do their school work at home, for the next three weeks. BGMS sent home information on Friday with each student, along with a Chromebook and a charger. Some instructions for completing this work may have changed, please listen to all of my message. All class work for all classes will be uploaded into a Google Classroom for each period by the studentās teacher. That is why we sent home all the Chromebooks, so they can access work on line. All teachers will be putting the first week assignments into their Google Classroom by 10:00 am tomorrow. This will be work that your student can do without your help. Please do not send any children to school, or come to the school campus tomorrow. If your student does not have a Chromebook, a charger, or cannot get their assignments through the Google Classroom, please call the school office and let us know, we will tell you what to do. Give your studentsā name, your phone number, or email address, and your need to Pam or Tiffany. Techers are not on site, and we will not be able to handle a large number of people coming to school. We will call you regarding next steps. Any questions, please call our office between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Thank you for your attention, and your participation in keeping our students leaning during these times when working together is essential to our well-being. Goodbye.

All school sites will be open on Monday for students to get any materials they need, but normal in-class instruction will be suspended until April 13. Students will be expected to begin their packets or online instruction. Please say turned into information because this is a changing situation. It will be our hope to have our libraries open for students who need access. Breakfast and lunch will be provided through the high school in a pick up and go fashion.

I am meeting with the county health department, doctors and the other superintendents from the county today at 12:00. We will be determining when and for how long schools will need to be closed. This is a unique situation and it is important to get the best information available. Please look for a posting at 2 pm for an update. I am fully aware of the reasons to close and stay open.

Hello BGMS Parents,
This is Ms. Munguia with announcements for this week. This monthās WUSD Board meeting will focus on Baechtel Grove Middle School. It will take place in the BGMS cafeteria, on Wednesday, beginning at 5:00 pm. On Friday we issued every sixth grader their own Chromebooks, making BGMS one to one using these devices in all grades. Although sixth graders will not be taking their Chromebooks home, it is important for us to know which of our students in all grade levels can access regular internet at home. Internet that students can access with their Chromebook devices, if there would be a need to have them do school work at home. First period teachers in sixth and seventh grades, and third period teachers in eighth grade will be asking students if they can access internet service at home. Early High School parents have a very important parent meeting at Willits High School tomorrow, at 5:30 pm, in room 4. This is a required meeting for every parent with students in the Early High School program this trimester. Thursday the Communicators for Kindness Club is inviting the entire community to celebrate kindness in the fourth annual Community Crock Pot event. This is a free night of a delicious dinner and conversations about kindness. Friday we recognize students who have achieved Principalās List and Honor Roll at our Honor Assemblies. Eighth grade begins at 8:15 am, seventh at 10:13 am, and sixth at 1:20 pm. Parents are welcome to attend these. Saturday we will have an Attendance Saturday School. This is for students who have been absent, as a way to recover some of their absences. Phone calls will be made to students who need to participate. Thank you for your attention and good bye.

AVID Sixth Grade students researched, and prepared posters for a Career Fair for the entire school. Ms. Larson was their teacher.

Hello BGMS Parents,
This is Ms. Munguia with announcements for this week. This is the start of our third and final trimester for this school year. As we begin this trimester, there have been some schedule changes. Almost every student has had some change in their schedule. Exploratories have changed between Music, Art, and PE Games. Seventh period classes have been restructured to meet the needs of students needing intervention. Early High School students now take their after lunch classes at the high school. New classes have been placed in our master schedule to address the needs of our English Learners, and support seventh grade Science. Students will be given their schedule changes, tomorrow, before classes begin in the cafeteria. You will not want to miss our Parent Education Night this Wednesday beginning at 6:00 pm. This month we will have a discussion about how to best address risky behavior with teens. I hope to see more of our parents attend this excellent training. Thank you for your attention and goodbye.

WUSD will be putting a plan together this week for a home study program for students if the health conditions require it. All buildings were disinfected this weekend. Please watch this video. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/the-facts-about-coronavirus-what-you-need-to-know/

Hello BGMS Parents,
This is Ms. Munguia with announcements for this week. This is the last week of Trimester 2, and we will be doing end of the trimester testing in all core classes at some time during this week. Both Thursday and Friday will be minimum days for students. Saturday the Wrestling team travels to Cloverdale High School for the Cloverdale USA Tournament, beginning at 10:00 am. Trimester 2 grades will not be final until report cards are sent out next week, on Thursday. Thank you for your attention and good bye.

Hello BGMS Parents,
This is Ms. Munguia with announcements for this week. The Academic Talent Search program is providing a Parent Information Night for all parents of students who are applying for enrollment in the program. This will take place Tuesday, at 5:30 pm in room 7. Please bring the application that students were given at the presentation last week so that it can be turned in that night. The deadline for submitting these applications to ATS is the next day Wednesday. We will have a BGMS School Site Council meeting on Thursday, at 3:15, in the cafeteria. All parents are invited to attend this meeting to give input into the district LCAP Plan for the next school year. Now is the time to talk to Mr. Westerburg, the Superintendent, about any of your preferred programs and needs, at BGMS, such as the AVID program, the Early High School Program, added supervision, keeping Art and Music, a counselor, and other ideas you might have about how to motivate adolescents to learn. In sports this week Wrestlers go to the Pomolita Invitational on Saturday, with the meet beginning at 10:00 am. We are in the last two weeks of the trimester. Students should know if they have missing assignments and be making these up in after school academic assistance classes. Most teachers have a cut-off date for late, or make up work of this Friday. The sixth grade avid class will be holding a career fair during their seventh period this week. Call Ms. Larson for more information. Thank you for your attention and good bye.
