Some things we are planning are small group sewing with Ms. Lisa in the library, collaborative art pieces, distance quilt making, crafting, and just getting together virtually. Reminder to our BGMS Community, We will be having our Parent Workshops tomorrow morning 8-9am- in Spanish and tomorrow night 5:30-6:30- in English. These workshops will focus on Google Classroom, Zoom, and other questions parents may have. These trainings will be in place every other week through the first trimester. Hello BGMS Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers, BGMS is encouraging you to make sure that students are attending their class meetings, either on Zoom or Google Meets. This is part of their attendance. Also, completing the assigned work, that same day, is another part of their attendance. We will be having parent trainings to make sure that everyone knows what to look for in the Google classrooms, and to tell what work students have completed. This Wednesday, September 23rd, at 8:00 am the training will be conducted in Spanish, and at 5:30 pm in English. These trainings will be in place every other week through the first trimester. These are in person trainings in room 3 at BGMS, using face coverings, and social distancing. Please call the office to reserve your place in the trainings, and bring your students Chromebook. We are planning a virtual Back to School Night on next Wednesday, September 30th, beginning at 5:30 with a welcome Zoom meeting for everyone. Each parent will then be able to go to each of their student’s classrooms, through their student’s Google classrooms, and listen to their expectations for that class. The Zoom meeting link will be sent out next Monday, September 28th. Thank you for listening. BGMS Community, We will be providing parent workshops to help with Distance Learning. We will be reviewing Google Classroom, accessing Zoom, and Google Meets, and any other questions that you may have. Hello BGMS Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers, As we return to distance learning after the events of last week, I want everyone to know that we realize that many of us may be experiencing some emotional distress. Our students may be worrying that another wildfire may happen again. The BGMS staff is committed to not adding to that distress. We are returning to our routine of the first week. Staff will be paying attention and listening to students, answering their questions, and letting them know that they are not to blame when bad things happen. Mainly we will promote good self-care. Teachers will continue to teach students how they will use the technology in their learning this week. If your child has not joined their classes, please bring them by the library at BGMS, between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm, and we will help them to get started. We have set our virtual Back to School Night to help parents understand the expectations of each class for Wednesday, September 30th. More information about this will be sent later. Hello BGMS Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers, This week we will continue showing students how to use the technology they will need for learning, in every classroom. Students are learning things such as how to be a respectful participant, where class video links and assignments will be posted, and how to turn in completed assignments. I am happy to report that about 92% of our students attended classes online for the first week. We are excited to have everyone back with us. Your efforts to support your students to engage in online learning were greatly appreciated. If your child has not joined their classes, please bring them by the library at BGMS, between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm, and we will help them to get started. We are working on a virtual Back to School Night, so you will have the opportunity to know what teachers will expect of students in in each subject, and class. First day of school 2020.

¡Bienvenidos al año escolar 20-21 y bienvenidos de nuevo a todos! Todos deberían comenzar su primer período de clases, en línea, mañana a las 8:00 am. Welcome to the 20-21 school year, and welcome back to everyone! Everyone should start their first period class, online, at 8:00 am tomorrow. Tonight have students go into their Google account, accept the invitation to their classrooms, and be ready to click on the link that their teachers put in their classrooms, at 8:00, tomorrow. Throughout the day the teachers will walk students through times they will go online for instruction, and when they will do work on their own. For the first two weeks BGMS teachers will be showing students how to use the technology that they will use for learning. If you did not pick up a time schedule, one is posted on our website under the Explore tag and Parent Recourses page. On Tuesdays the instruction time ends an hour sooner, and they have a different time schedule. Teachers will be giving that schedule to students tomorrow. If you do not know how to access the internet from your home, call us, and we will give you some options. If you have questions for teachers, call during their office hours. If you have other questions, or concerns please give us a call in the office, at any time. Our teachers have been working hard to create classrooms that will engage students, and inform parents. Families and Students, Monday will be our first day of Virtual School! This will be a new experience for everyone including your teachers. Let's remember to have patience for each other and to do our best. These are some things to expect: 1. Log in to your student gmail account to get the codes to your Google Classrooms. Students will need to attend live lessons throughout the day. 5.All students will begin the first Zoom live lesson at 8:00 am 6. The daily schedule is located on our BGMS website 7. Students can come to the BGMS library or parking lots to access WiFi if you DO NOT have WiFi at home. Students will upload the work for their classes but not be able to remain on campus all day. 8. Please come and get a Chromebook if you have not done so 9. Our office staff is on campus from 7:30 am-4:30 pm daily.
