Graduating Seniors are required by law to submit a copy of either their FAFSA/CADAA proof of submission or a completed FAFSA/CADAA Opt-Out Form to the WHS Office prior to the end of the school year. If you are not submitting a FAFSA/CADAA Application for the 2024-25 school year, please complete and submit your opt-out form to the WHS front office as soon as possible. A PDF copy of this form has been emailed to your WHS email account. Paper copies of this form are also available for you to pick-up from your school counselor.
Hello, The Mendocino College North County Center is offering a summer program for high school students and graduating seniors from Monday June tenth through Thursday July eighteenth. Students who complete two of the four classes being offered will receive a three hundred dollar stipend. That means they will get paid to take college classes! Please contact your student's school counselor for additional details. Summer registration begins tomorrow Friday April nineteenth.

Dear Class of 2024, today is the last day to apply for the WHS Local Scholarship Program. All applications are due by 11:59pm tonight on Going Merry.com . Scholarships are available for graduating Seniors entering Trades Programs, 2 year colleges and 4 year universities. Please be advised that the FAFSA filing deadline for priority consideration is April 2nd. All Seniors will be able to meet this deadline by submitting their FAFSA form online with their electronic signature even if their guardian has not yet completed their part of the application. Please search for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid to begin your application today.

We hope to see you on Friday, April 12th from 9AM-1PM at the Mendocino College Native American Motivation Day. There will be an opening prayer, workshops, and food, provided by our Indigenous Nations Club and JC’s Taco Truck. We will also have Pomo dancing, singing, and various college related booths. Students must register for this event online through their School Counselor. Sign up today in the Counseling Office with Lucy or Nicole to get your registration link and permission slip.
You do not have to have your tribal registration card to attend this event. Today is a good day to be Indigenous.
Hello, there are two different field trip opportunities for juniors and seniors next week. The first one is the annual Mendocino College day at the Willits North County Center on Thursday March twenty first. This is an opportunity to learn about the programs and services offered at Mendocino College and will be a walking field trip. Please let your School Counselor know if you would like to attend no later than Wednesday March twentieth. The second opportunity is to attend a career day being hosted by Willits Soroptimist at the community center on Friday March twenty second. Students must turn in signed permission slips to the office no later than Thursday March twenty first. Permissions slips have been emailed and distributed in classes.
Hello, the ASVAB results interpretation for juniors will be on Friday March fifteenth at 9:30 a.m. in the auditorium. ASVAB officials will distribute the results to the juniors who took the test, help them to understand their scores, and walk them through how to access the online career exploration program. Juniors, please plan to attend!

Dear Class of 2024. The Cash for College financial aid FAFSA and Dream Act Night is this evening from 6 to 8pm in the WHS computer lab. Students and guardians will need their FSA ID accounts and access to 2022 tax return information. Hello Willits High School students and parents! Friday March eighth is the last day of the winter term. Final exams are scheduled for Thursday March seventh and Friday March eighth. Students will be released early on both days. Athletic eligibility will be determined by the grades entered as of March thirteenth. Report cards will be mailed home but may take more than a week to arrive. Please check your Aeries portal or Canvas accounts for your student's most up to date grade information. If you do not have an account, please contact your student's School Counselor.

The University of California or UC system is hosting a virtual event for students interested in attending a UC after high school next week on Thursday February twenty ninth from 6:00-7:30 p.m. This is an opportunity to learn more about the UC experience. Hear from current students and families to discover the learning and engagement opportunities that await you at the University of California. Admission representatives from all nine undergraduate campuses will also be available during the event to answer your questions. Space is limited, so be sure to register today!
Hello WHS students and parents or guardians! We have partnered with Tapestry Family Services to offer individual and group counseling on the Willits High School campus during the school day for free! Parent or guardian consent is required for students to participate. Space for individual counseling is on a first come first serve basis. Once the Tapestry counselor has a full caseload, students and parents requesting services will be placed on a waitlist. Individual counseling has a maximum of 8 sessions. Groups will have anywhere between 6-8 students each and will cover topics such as anxiety, mindfulness, self esteem, and healthy relationships. Groups will be limited to 6-8 sessions maximum. We are hoping top have enough students to start groups on Monday February twenty sixth. If you are interested in participating in a group, please let me know.
The Horatio Alger Association Scholarships for High School Juniors is open until March fifteenth! The Horatio Alger Association scholarships are for students overcoming adversity that want to pursue the American Dream through higher education.
